Rui Hu is an assistant professor of Big Data and Internet at Shenzhen Technology University. Before joining the department, she obtained her PhD in Statistics at University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she was fortunate to be advised by Prof. Ted Westling. Her primary research interests lie at the intersection of causal inference, machine learning, and semiparametric efficiency theory. Some specific topics she has worked on include nonparametric inference for heterogeneous treatment effects and sensitivity analyses for time-to-event data in observational studies. She is also interested in developing nonparametric causal inference tools for complex longitudinal data, drawing inspiration from real-world business challenges.
